|Sullivan's Island is a family beach, no motels or hotels. It is the
first settled beach in the US and is made up of homes for professional people
as well as summer homes for old Charleston families. There are also
several retired people living here.
The island is at the entrance to the Charleston harbor and the nearest beach to Mt. Pleasant and the city.
There is no carnival atmosphere but the beach is big and clean with a tidal pool near the house which is wonderful for small children. There is also Fort Moultrie and lots of history here.
The house is a duplex. One unit, the unit for rent, consists of 2000 sq. ft. on the second floor. There are four bedrooms and two baths. Beddroom 1 has a queen sized bed, bedroom 2 has a king sized bed as does bedroom 3. Bedroom 4 has 2 single beds.
It used to be our home but we are elderly now and my wife is in a wheel
chair. We live in the unit at ground level so I can roll her in and out as there are no steps. Of course there are separate entrances, privacy for each unit and all that. We love children and family groups, but do not allow fraternity type parties.
We are located on the second row of homes with a great view of the ocean. The home is also on a corner lot located at a beach access. We are the length of a football field (100 yards) from the water. For a better idea of our location go on line to an online Map site or use a map program like Rand McNally's Trip-Maker and type in
